Gray
Son, it is hard to believe that is has been almost two years since we last saw you. For us, it seems like yesterday that we spoke. Things are pretty much at a stand-still in our lives. Oh, we get up and go on with our lives like nothing has changed, but you know better. The quiet time just before we close our eyes and go to sleep is the worst. That is when you can’t run away anymore from the sadness. It is the time that you lay there and wonder if just one thing had been different, would it have changed that one moment in time. We know, deep in our hearts, that your time had come but it doesn’t make it any easier or better. The what-ifs are always there. It is like the song

“If you ask me how I’m doing I’ll say just fine. But the truth is if you could read my mind, not a day goes by that I don’t think of you”. If there was one wish in the world that we could have, it would be to see your smile again and to tell you how much we love you and how proud we were.

We miss your sweaty hugs after those many soccer games. We miss your laughing eyes. We miss your smile as you put up with our many questions about your life. Your friends remember and miss your sense of humor. Thanks Gray for the memories.

Love, Mom and Dad
