·       
All-SEC selection in 1990 with the Florida Gators.
·       
Ended Gators career ninth on UF receiving chart with 1,585 yards.
·       
Led SEC in TD receptions (10) in 1990 and played in Blue-Gray All-Star Game.
·       
Played with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a WR from 1991-96. In 1995 had 39 catches for 679 yards and eight touchdowns.
·       
Had eight catches for 78 yards in the 1996 Super Bowl for Steelers.
·       
Played for the Carolina Panthers in 1997 and the Dallas Cowboys in 1998 where he led team in TD Receptions.
·       
Played 11 games for Dallas in 1999 before being injured and out for remainder of season.  Waived and Retired in the spring of 2000.
·       
Currently co-owns a small business (Office and Home Concepts, LLC) that disassembles, moves and reassembles Office furniture.
·       
Ernie is also Coordinator at Phillip O'Berry Academy of Tech High School.
